Riverfly Open Day 2024

by Hannah Parry-Wilson, Citizen Science Co-ordinator

On Saturday 5th October, we held our annual Riverfly Open Day at the Boxmoor Trust Centre, starting with talks about research on freshwater invertebrates and followed by a field visit to the River Bulbourne to practice our Riverfly field skills.

In front of an audience of potential and existing local Riverfly monitors from the Chilterns and Hertfordshire Riverfly Hub, we were delighted to listen to talks from Steve Brooks – Co-Founder of the Riverfly Partnership, Lucy Dawes – former QMUL Masters student, Romain Carremejane – Research Fellow at Nottingham Trent University, and Charlotte Hawkins – Environment Agency Herts & London Ecology Contact.
